Astrology AI Chat - Privacy Notice

Last Updated: October 2026

Our astrology tool pages may show Nabh, the 'Ask Nabh about this page' AI chat. If it is shown and you ask it a question, this notice explains what happens to that question. It adds to our main privacy policy, which applies to the pages the chat is on as to the rest of this site.

1. Scope

This notice applies ONLY to Nabh, the 'Ask Nabh about this page' chat that our astrology tool pages may show. The optional research question feature on the Raj Yoga and Navamsa pages has its own notice. Chart calculation and the birth details you enter into a tool stay in your browser and are not sent to us - the chat does not change that.

2. What is sent, and to whom

Only the questions you choose to ask. When you send one - typed, or picked from our suggestions - your browser sends it to our server with the name of the page you asked it on, and our server passes it to OpenAI to be answered.

  • OpenAI receives your question, a short description of the page you asked it on, and the same fixed instructions every question carries.
  • It never receives your chart, the birth details you entered into the tool, or your network address.
  • Each question is sent on its own: the earlier questions and answers of your conversation are not sent with it.

3. What the page stops before anything is sent

Your question is checked in your browser first. A question that looks like it holds a birth date or a birth time is stopped there and sent nowhere, and so are some of the questions the chat does not answer, which it declines with the reason. The check looks for dates and times: it cannot recognise a name or a place written in an ordinary sentence, so please do not type names, contact details or other personal details into a question.

4. What we keep

  • No copy of your question or of the answer.
  • What the chat's server records about a request never includes the question, the answer or your network address.
  • To limit how many questions one reader can ask in an hour and in a day, the server counts questions against a value derived from your network address with a secret key - never the address itself. Each count is deleted automatically within 2 days of your last question.
  • Site-wide counts - the questions asked in the last minute, and what the answers have cost - carry nothing about you.
  • Vercel, which hosts this site and runs the chat's server, handles the request as it handles any request to this site, under its own privacy policy.

5. What OpenAI keeps

OpenAI's own page on API data (read October 2026) says that data sent to its API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless a customer explicitly opts in to share data with OpenAI - this site has not. It also says that its abuse-monitoring logs, which may contain prompts and responses, are kept for up to 30 days by default, and longer if the law requires it or if that is reasonably necessary to protect OpenAI's services or anyone else from harm. So your question and its answer may stay in those logs, normally for up to 30 days. Each request also tells OpenAI not to store the response for later retrieval.

6. The check that you are not a bot

To reduce automated abuse of the chat, each question is checked by Vercel BotID, a service of the company that hosts this site. Vercel's challenge runs invisibly in your browser and its result is sent with your question; our server then asks Vercel to check it, sending the request's headers - your network address and browser details among them - and never your question.

7. Analytics

Besides what it records on every page of this site (see our main privacy policy), Google Analytics receives the name of the page; whether it was a suggested question, typed, or a follow-up; how it ended - for example answered, declined or stopped; and which question of the conversation it was. It receives the first two when you open the chat, and all four for each question. It never receives the text of a question or of an answer.

8. Your conversation

The conversation exists only in the open page. It is not saved in your browser or on our server, and it is gone when you leave or reload the page.

9. Processors

Vercel (hosting, the chat's server and the bot check); Upstash Redis, via the Vercel Marketplace (the question counts in section 4); OpenAI (the answers); Google Analytics (the usage events in section 7).

10. Deleting

We keep no copy of your questions, so there is nothing of yours for us to delete. OpenAI's abuse-monitoring logs are kept for up to 30 days by default, as section 5 describes, and we cannot delete them for you.

11. Children

The chat is not for children under 13, as the rest of this site is not directed at them. If you are under 13, please do not use it.

12. Contact and grievances

Write to desiutils.in@gmail.com with any question or complaint about this notice, and we will respond. Changes to this notice will be posted on this page with an updated date.
