Affiliate Disclosure

Last Updated: May 2026

1. What this page is

DesiUtils.in includes a small number of affiliate links inside finance-related calculators. This page explains what that means, which networks we work with, and how editorial independence is protected. We follow the spirit of the US FTC “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements” (16 CFR Part 255) and the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Code, which together require that material connections between a publisher and an advertiser be disclosed clearly and prominently.

2. What “affiliate link” means here

  • An affiliate link is an outbound link to an advertiser (for example a bank that issues a credit card). If you click the link and later complete an action the advertiser cares about (apply, get approved, transact), we may earn a small commission.
  • The commission is paid by the advertiser, not by you. There is no extra cost added to your application, fee, or interest rate because you arrived via our link.
  • Affiliate links on this site are always marked with rel=“sponsored nofollow” in the HTML and open in a new tab. A short disclosure line appears next to every affiliate link.
  • Search engines (Google, Bing) and AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) see those rel attributes and treat the links accordingly.

3. Networks we use

We work with two affiliate networks that aggregate Indian advertisers. Both networks track via a redirect (linksredirect.com or inr.deals/track) which lands you on the advertiser’s own page.

a) Cuelinks

  • Primary network. Used for the majority of credit-card and finance advertisers.
  • Tracking domain: linksredirect.com.
  • Cuelinks privacy practices: https://www.cuelinks.com/privacy.

b) INRDeals

  • Used as a fallback for a small set of advertisers where Cuelinks does not have an active campaign (currently HSBC and ICICI credit cards).
  • Tracking domain: inr.deals.
  • INRDeals privacy practices: https://inrdeals.com/privacy.

4. Editorial independence

  • We do not change the math, advice, or recommendations inside any calculator based on which advertisers pay us a commission.
  • We do not write listicle pages whose entire purpose is to rank advertisers by commission (“Best credit cards 2026” style pages). The site’s primary content is utility calculators; affiliate links are supplementary and only appear where they are genuinely relevant to the calculator’s output.
  • We do not pre-fill calculator inputs with values that nudge users toward an advertiser. Inputs start empty with placeholder text.
  • If an advertiser asks us to remove negative or neutral context (for example a fee table or interest-rate footnote) as a condition of remaining in their campaign, we will exit the campaign instead.

5. Where affiliate links appear

Affiliate links currently appear in selected finance calculators where the link is contextually useful (for example: a credit-card link inside a salary calculator, since the user is already mapping income to bank products). They do not appear on:

  • Astrology, utility, document, and general-purpose tool pages.
  • Blog posts written for educational or news purposes.
  • Game, varnamala, and ingredient-checker tools.
  • Any tool whose output does not naturally connect to a financial product.

6. What data is shared when you click

When you click an affiliate link, the destination network logs the click (their cookie or redirect ID, the time, your User-Agent, and the page you came from). This is similar to any normal outbound link. We pass an internal identifier (the calculator slug, for example salary-calculator) to the network so we can later see which calculators sent the click. We do not pass any of your calculator inputs, file content, names, PAN, salary figures, or other personal data. The advertiser sees only what you choose to enter on their own application form, which is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. Our broader data practices are described on the Privacy Policy page.

7. Eligibility, approval, and your responsibility

  • Whether you actually get approved for any credit card, loan, or financial product is the advertiser’s decision based on their own underwriting criteria.
  • We use phrases like “see if you qualify” or “check on the bank site” rather than “get approved” or “guaranteed”. Approval is never promised.
  • Always read the advertiser’s own fee schedule, interest rate disclosures, and terms before applying. Our calculator output is an estimate and a starting point, not financial advice.
  • If a product looks wrong for your situation, ignore the affiliate link. Closing the tab is always a fine outcome.

8. Tax

Commissions earned through these networks are business income for DesiUtils.in and are reported in the relevant Indian income-tax returns. Where TDS applies under Section 194H of the Income-Tax Act, the network deducts it at source and credits it against our PAN.

9. Your right to ignore affiliate links

You can use any calculator on DesiUtils.in without ever clicking an affiliate link. The calculators are free, do not require sign-up, and process your inputs locally in your browser. Browser extensions (such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger) that block known affiliate redirectors will not stop the calculators from working.

10. Updates

We may update this disclosure when we add or remove affiliate networks, change the list of tools that carry affiliate links, or refine the editorial-independence guarantees above. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
