Comparing NPS to mutual fund SIPs? NPS gives you the additional Rs 50,000 deduction under Section 80CCD(1B) plus 60% tax-free corpus at maturity, but locks 40% into a mandatory annuity. For pure equity SIP projection with annual step-up and inflation adjustment, use the SIP Calculator with Step-Up. Most retirement plans use both - NPS for the tax break, equity SIPs for the liquid growth corpus.
